Sea-Intelligence reports all 14 of Asia’s busiest container ports have seen declining on-time vessel arrivals, driven by consecutive typhoons and broader supply chain disruption. Shanghai and Ningbo-Zhoushan, the world’s largest container ports, were hit hardest, with Shanghai’s reliability falling to just 21 percent in July, its lowest level in 14 years of recorded data outside pandemic-era disruptions. Yantian, Hong Kong, and Singapore also saw sharp declines. Overall container schedule reliability fell to 56.1 percent, the steepest single-month drop since January 2021, prompting some carriers to resume Suez Canal routing.
