Port of Vancouver USA to Celebrate Import of 2 Millionth Subaru Vehicle

 

 

VANCOUVER, Wash. – The Port of Vancouver USA and Subaru of America, Inc. (SOA) will celebrate a major milestone on August 14: the import of the 2 millionth Subaru vehicle through the Port of Vancouver USA since the partnership began in 1993.

The event will feature the ceremonial arrival of the “2 millionth Subaru” vehicle rolling across the port’s Terminal 4, along with brief remarks from the port’s CEO, Julianna Marler, and SOA’s Lisa Quan, VP – Vehicle Planning & Logistics, commemorating a partnership that has spanned more than three decades and helped make the Port of Vancouver USA Subaru’s largest gateway for vehicle imports in North America.

In 2025, the port and SOA extended their partnership through 2040, reinforcing a relationship that has helped support thousands of jobs and billions of dollars in economic activity throughout the region.

What:             The Port of Vancouver USA will host a “2 Millionth Subaru” celebration

When:             9:00 a.m. Friday, August 14, 2026

*Members of the media should plan to arrive by 8:15 a.m. to be escorted into the port’s secure marine terminal. Meeting location provided upon RSVP.
*Government-issued photo I.D. (e.g. driver’s license) is required for entry.

In attendance will be ILWU Local 4 representatives, port team members, elected officials and staff.

                         Details on meeting location for escort into terminal will be provided upon RSVP.

The port’s CEO and an SOA representative will provide brief remarks, followed by the ceremonial arrival of the “2 millionth Subaru” vehicle. 

Visual opportunities will include the milestone vehicle crossing Terminal 4; executive remarks; and a group photo featuring representatives from the Port of Vancouver USA and Subaru of America and key transport, business and labor partners.

The event will take place within secured areas of the port overseen by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Coast Guard. To access secured areas, media members must present valid government-issued photo identification.  

The event will take place rain or shine. Attendees must wear closed-toed shoes while on the terminal.
