The Los Angeles Board of Harbor Commissioners has approved a 30-year lease extension with Yusen Terminals, a unit of Singapore-based Ocean Network Express, keeping the operator at the Port of Los Angeles through 2056. The agreement includes an additional $200 million investment in zero-emission cargo-handling equipment, building on Yusen’s existing fleet of electric and hydrogen fuel-cell machinery. Yusen has operated at the port since 1991 across 232 acres, handling roughly 1.5 million TEUs annually and ranking fifth among the port’s six terminals.
