DP World has completed major dredging works at Senegal’s future Port of Ndayane 13 months ahead of schedule, clearing the way for quay construction and other marine works to begin early. The $1.2 billion project, Senegal’s largest single private investment, involved dredging a five-kilometre channel, turning basin and berth pocket through rock formations exceeding 100 megapascals, using two of the world’s largest suction dredgers without blasting. The port remains on track for completion in 2028, positioning Senegal as a West African logistics hub.
