British nuclear energy firm Core Power has signed a seven-year agreement with the U.S. Maritime Administration to build a 50-ship nuclear-powered merchant fleet of LNG tankers and containerships, aiming to counter Chinese competition and cut fuel costs despite higher per-vessel construction costs.
