Ingalls Shipbuilding is extending its distributed shipbuilding model to amphibious transport docks, starting with Philadelphia (LPD 32). Building on efficiencies from the Flight III destroyer program, HII plans to grow outsourced shipbuilding hours by 30 percent in 2026 as it scales capacity for Navy fleet demand.
