The Canadian Coast Guard reports Resolve Marine has recovered approximately 68 percent of the wrecked containership MSC Baltic III, or 7,445 tonnes, up from 55 percent earlier in October. The 207-meter vessel blacked out and beached off Newfoundland in February 2025. Recycling began in May 2026, and crews are now pulling remaining hull sections toward shore. Sheening and shoreline impacts have been observed in Cedar Cove, where tank cleaning and monitoring continue. Work will proceed until winter conditions set in, with MSC covering costs.
