Port Tampa Bay is advancing a fourth cruise terminal, its first new cruise facility in more than 25 years, to meet strong demand as Florida’s only Gulf Coast cruise homeport. The port projects a record 1.7 million cruise passengers this year, up from 1.66 million in 2025. Site preparation is underway at the former Metroport site, with HDR and BEA Architects designing the terminal. Expected to open in late 2029, it will add more than 200 annual ship calls and an estimated $100 million in yearly economic impact.
