Maritime Executive Article: Norway Provides $76M in Grants to Advance Hydrogen and Ammonia Ships
Norway’s Enova program has awarded approximately $76 million in its fourth round of grants to accelerate maritime decarbonization, with a focus on hydrogen and ammonia as alternative fuels. The funding supports four hydrogen-powered and two ammonia-powered ship projects, as well as ammonia storage infrastructure. Recipients include LH2 Shipping and Møre Maritime for hydrogen vessel development, and Amon Maritime for two large ammonia-fueled bulk carriers. These initiatives aim to scale up zero-emission shipping, create new green industries, and position Norway as a global leader in maritime innovation.
