New Pacific Industrial (NP), a new shipbuilding venture led by veteran shipyard executives, has launched operations at the former Kaiser Shipbuilding yard in Vancouver, Washington, now known as the Columbia Business Center. NP debuts with a two-vessel contract for American Marine Corporation, marking AMC’s first newbuild tug order in its 50-year history. The company occupies about 180,000 square feet of the WWII-era site, which offers fabrication bays, heavy-lift cranes, and barge and rail access. Naval architecture firm Glosten designed the first vessel, a 122-foot ocean-towing tug.
