Marine Maintenance Mechanic

Are you hands-on, detail-oriented, and enjoy problem solving? We are seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and upgrades on marine vessels, vehicles, and trailers so they are operating at peak performance. We are Clean Rivers Cooperative, an oil spill response organization that operates on the Columbia, Willamette, and Snake River systems.

In this role, you will troubleshoot and evaluate engines and machinery, research effective repair solutions, and source required parts to keep operations running smoothly. You will also maintain accurate service records, ensure shop and yard equipment are properly maintained, and manage an inventory of mission-critical tools and supplies.

Safety and organization matter here. You will help maintain a clean, well-organized, and safe work environment while working with a high level of professionalism and accountability. This position primarily works 40 hours per week but you must have the ability to travel regionally when needed. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in their craft and thrives in a structured, quality-focused environment.

The ideal candidate typically brings 5 or more years of hands-on mechanic experience, including equipment maintenance, with the ability to work on a wide range of vehicles, vessels, and machinery. Experience repairing and operating engines, motors, and pumps is essential, along with basic diagnostic and repair skills across hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and fuel systems. A working knowledge of electronics and the ability to service both light- and heavy-duty vehicles and trailers are preferred. Training will be provided on company-specific equipment, marine vessels, and systems. Must be able to operate a forklift or have the ability to pass Forklift Operator certification.

· Competitive wage: This position starts at $31.00/hr. A salary increase will be added upon successful completion of a Class A CDL.

· You will have the opportunity to train to be a Response Manager in our rotating on-call pool. Additional salary adjustment is available after completion of Response Manager requirements.

Employment is Contingent Upon:
