gCaptain Article: ONE Henry Hudson Cargo Operations Resume at Port of Los Angeles After Fire
Ocean Network Express (ONE) has begun discharging the remaining containers from the fire-damaged M/V ONE Henry Hudson at the Port of Los Angeles, signaling a major transition from emergency response to recovery and cargo resolution. The vessel remains berthed at Yusen Terminal after crews completed water removal and distressed-cargo extraction from affected holds earlier this month. Full container discharge operations are set to begin mid-week, following months of highly coordinated firefighting, offshore relocation, and salvage work that the U.S. Coast Guard has called one of the most technically complex port salvage operations in recent history. With General Average declared by vessel owner Fukujin Kisen, cargo surveys and documentation are now underway, and cargo release will proceed only after required securities are arranged. Investigations by the Coast Guard and NTSB remain ongoing as cargo owners prepare for recovery and onward movement of goods.
