TradeWinds Article: Grounded Greek Cargo Ships Sink Off Crete

The Sierra Leone-flagged cargo ship MN Kostas, operated by Crete-based MN Shipping, has partially sunk near Kyriamadi, Crete, almost a month after grounding on a mapped reef while transporting gypsum from Sitia to Beirut. The ship, now classified as a wreck and a navigation hazard, had previously shown deficiencies in accident prevention equipment during a recent port state control inspection in Turkey.
