gCaptain Article: Salvage Tug Arrives as Car Carrier 'Morning Midas' Continues to Burn off Alaska Coast
The U.S. Coast Guard continues to respond to the ongoing fire aboard the car carrier Morning Midas, now approximately 220 miles south of Adak, Alaska. The first salvage tug, Gretchen Dunlap, has arrived to begin assessment and operations, with two more vessels en route. Despite the vessel burning throughout, there are no signs of pollution, and the Morning Midas remains stable as salvage operations and environmental monitoring continue.
