The U.S. Coast Guard has arrested the captain of the 333-meter Liberian-flagged containership MSC Jubilee IX after he was found to be more than six times over the legal alcohol limit for commercial mariners while in command near Seattle. The incident was reported by a Puget Sound Pilot, who, along with the first mate, safely navigated the vessel from Everett to Terminal 5 at the Port of Seattle. Upon arrival, Coast Guard officials administered sobriety tests, resulting in the captain’s arrest and referral for prosecution.
