The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Seattle District will begin maintenance dredging at Everett Harbor and the Snohomish River on or around October 16, with American Construction Co. serving as contractor.

Work will start in the lower settling basin using a clamshell dredge and bottom dump barges, removing about 175,000 cubic yards of material. Dredged sediment will go primarily to the Port Gardner placement site, with Elliott Bay as a secondary site.

Operations will run around the clock for about 60 days and must finish by February 14, 2027. The federal channel will remain open to waterway users throughout the work.
