HME Construction Inc. of Vancouver, Washington, has been awarded an $11,502,000 firm-fixed-price contract for clamshell maintenance dredging and associated hydrographic and land survey work in Portland, Oregon. The award carries a total cumulative face value of nearly $13 million.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District, is the contracting activity. Bids were solicited online with one received, and fiscal 2026 civil operation and maintenance funds covering the full $11.5 million were obligated at the time of award. Work is expected to be complete by March 27, 2027.

The contract supports ongoing maintenance dredging that keeps the Columbia River system’s navigation channels open for commercial traffic, a cornerstone of Pacific Northwest trade.
