Columbia Gorge News Article: Port of Hood River Announces Bridge Closure June 9 from 11 a.m. to Approximately Noon for Vessel Passage

The Hood River-White Salmon Bridge will be fully closed to all traffic on Tuesday, June 9, from 11 a.m. to approximately noon to accommodate a bridge lift for the passage of the vessel Zorro. The Port of Hood River said the span may reopen sooner if conditions allow.

The closure is required under U.S. Coast Guard regulations (33 CFR § 117.869), which mandate that the bridge open to river traffic with at least 12 hours’ notice. “We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to keep both river and road traffic moving safely,” the Port said in a media release.

Motorists and river users can monitor real-time conditions via the Port of Hood River’s live bridge camera.
