The U.S. Coast Guard has deployed teams across the Gulf Coast to assess damage and reopen ports disrupted by Hurricane Isaias. Gulfport and Pascagoula have returned to normal operations. Mobile, Panama City and Port St. Joe are in recovery with restrictions, and Destin and Pensacola remain under Port Condition Zulu while crews look for navigational hazards.

The response includes seven aids-to-navigation teams, five port assessment teams to inspect waterfront facilities, and five communications teams restoring radio coverage. A deployable command center and a Rescue 21 remote fixed facility support the communications teams. MH-60 Jayhawk helicopters and HC-144 Ocean Sentry aircraft are flying aerial assessments.

“Our priority is to safely reopen the port and restore the flow of maritime commerce as quickly as conditions allow,” said Capt. Mike Vega, commanding officer of Sector Mobile. Mariners are advised to monitor Coast Guard broadcasts and Captain of the Port directives for reopening updates.
