The U.S. Coast Guard has awarded a $315 million contract to Tutor Perini Corp. to build a new fuel pier and major cutter mooring at Base Kodiak, Alaska, as the service expands its Arctic presence. The project, expected to finish by fall 2030, includes waterfront grading, a fueling utility building, and demolition of the existing pier. Kodiak will homeport the Coast Guard’s first two Arctic Security Cutters, with the first delivery expected in 2028. Funding draws on the 2022 Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and subsequent federal appropriations.
