American Cruise Lines has named two more U.S.-built riverboats, including one bound for the Pacific Northwest. The 180-passenger American Rhapsody will enter service in 2029, operating nine-day cruises on the Columbia and Snake rivers between Portland, Ore., and Clarkston, Wash. Its sister vessel, the 180-passenger American Beauty, will begin Upper Mississippi River service in September 2028.

Both ships will be built by Chesapeake Shipbuilding of Salisbury, Md., and will be the 29th and 30th vessels in the American Cruise Lines fleet. Each will have six decks and private-balcony accommodations, including single staterooms, suites and a 1,500-sq.-ft. signature suite, along with top-deck lounges, walking tracks, chart rooms, restaurants and fitness centers.

The pair follows three previously announced riverboats: American Encore, which entered service in May 2026; American Anthem, scheduled for April 2027; and American Grace, scheduled for April 2028. American Anthem is slated to spend its inaugural season on a 16-day Columbia and Snake rivers itinerary. The company plans to introduce 13 vessels between 2025 and 2029.
