Port of Vancouver USA Earns 17th Straight Clean Audit

The Port of Vancouver USA has received its 17th consecutive clean audit from the Washington State Auditor’s Office, covering the period from January 1 through December 31, 2025. The clean bill of financial health marks yet another year of uninterrupted fiscal accountability for one of the Pacific Northwest’s most strategically important marine terminals — a record that stretches back nearly two decades without a single audit exception.

The Washington State Auditor’s Office serves as the official independent overseer of how ports, local government entities, and special-purpose districts manage public funds across the state. Its annual examinations are designed to provide citizens with transparent, third-party verification of how those funds are used. For the 2025 audit, SAO examiners reviewed a broad range of the port’s financial operations, including marine terminal revenue, accounts payable covering general disbursements, credit cards, and electronic fund transfers, payroll disbursements, open public meetings compliance, and overall financial condition.

Port of Vancouver USA CEO Julianna Marler credited the port’s team for the sustained record, noting that the port stewards public resources with professionalism and accountability to the community. The Port of Vancouver USA plays a central role in the regional economy, handling a diverse mix of cargo including bulk commodities, vehicles, and breakbulk freight at its five terminals along the Columbia River. Clean audit streaks of this length are rare among public port districts and reflect the kind of institutional stability that supports long-term infrastructure investment, supply chain reliability, and economic development for Southwest Washington.
