MARAD: 2026 PIDP NOFO

The U.S. Maritime Administration (MARAD) has released the FY 2026 Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for the Port Infrastructure Development Program (PIDP), opening the door for nearly $489 million in federal funding to support port-related infrastructure projects across the country. The program is designed to improve the safety, efficiency, and reliability of goods movement through ports and intermodal connections.

To assist applicants, MARAD is hosting a series of informational webinars throughout April covering key aspects of the application process, including how to apply, economic analysis requirements for small projects, and benefit-cost analysis guidance for large-scale proposals. These sessions aim to help ports, public agencies, and stakeholders submit more competitive applications ahead of the June 1, 2026 deadline.

Eligible applicants include state and local governments, port authorities, tribal entities, and certain public-private partnerships. Projects may range from cargo handling improvements and infrastructure upgrades to resiliency and environmental initiatives, with a strong emphasis on strengthening supply chains and supporting national freight mobility goals.
