The 21-month project involved major system upgrades and the installation of 864 battery modules, significantly advancing maritime sustainability. Once operational, the Wenatchee and other converted ferries are expected to dramatically reduce diesel usage and greenhouse gas emissions as part of WSF’s broader System Electrification Program.
